How the Program Works
Marriage Database
In order to maintain privacy and confidentiality, the program is run by a husband and wife couple.

As an applicant, you will be required to fill out a spouse application form with a current photo of yourself provided. Forms can be picked up from IISNA or one can be e-mailed or posted to you. Once you have filled it out, you will need to send it back or drop it off personally at IISNA.

A public profile will be made using the form details and you will be placed on the online database with specific information displayed such as age, nationality, education, interests, hobbies, occupation etc . No photo or in-depth descriptive details will be displayed. We will also display your personal interests in a spouse such as preferred nationality, age range, desired features etc. Only those on the database are able to view the online details of others seeking to find a spouse.

To view a photo or seek further details about someone on the database, an appointment will need to be made with the program organisers. The applicant may choose a maximum of 3 profiles he or she feels may be suitable as a potential spouse. To narrow the profiles down, the applicant will be shown photos of the chosen profiles. Applicants may only enquire about one database member at a time. After viewing the public database, we ask applicants to maintain the Islamic etiquette of seeking guidance from Allah and pray 2 units of Istikhaarah.

After this final stage, if female, the guardian of the chosen applicant will be contacted, and the chosen applicant is given the opportunity to view the profile of the brother or sister who has enquired about them. If the chosen applicant of the other person’s profile approves, they are shown the photo and given details to make further contact via the guardians.

From this point, that which occurs is in the hands of Allah and between the families of the two applicants. Our program is a means for single brothers and sisters to be aware of others within the community seeking marriage and a means for initial contact. We may assist but do not take responsibility for any matter beyond this point. It is up to the individuals and their guardians to undertake the proper research about the intended spouse and to speak to them thoroughly about all concerns.
